| Evangelist Del Rittgers was introduced to the holiness movement as a small child. Coming from an unchurched home, the Church of the Nazarene took an interest in his family and made sure he was picked up by bus and brought to church each Sunday. Subsequently his parents began attending and accepted the Lord, and before long, Del, at the age of 9, received Christ as his Lord and Savior. At a Nazarene camp, the summer following his conversion, Del sought and received the experience of entire sanctification, and answered God's call on his life into full-time ministry. Del attended Mid-America Nazarene University and finished his ministerial studies through the Iowa District Church of the Nazarene, receiving his ordination in 1994. For twenty-seven years , Del has been involved in the local ministry of the church as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, music minister, as well as serving on various committees. On the Iowa District he served on the Nazarene Youth International Council and the Iowa Ministerial Studies Board. He currently serves on the Iowa Holiness Association Board. Del served as a senior pastor for almost 10 years , and as an evangelist for the past 8 years. Del's wife, Chris, is a stay-at-home mom and homeschools their two youngest daughters . This is their 10th year of homeschooling. Deanna is the oldest at 19 and has graduated from highschool. She loves to sing and play the piano and enjoys traveling with her dad. She also blesses us with her wonderful cooking! Tori is 16 and is a gifted writer and enjoys keeping a blog. She also loves to sing and play the piano. Nikki will soon be 11. She also loves to sing and play the piano. She also enjoys blogging and playing with her pet gerbil, Sammy. The Rittgers make their home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In their free time the Rittgers enjoy outdoor activities -volleyball, basketball, walking, bicycling, picnicing, fishing, camping. The fall/winter months will often find them at a football game or cheering on their Waterloo Blackhawks Hockey team! Evangelist Rittgers has preached in large churches as well as the small. Having pastored for almost 10 years he has a keen insight into the heart of a pastor . Del is a gifted communicator with an uncanny ability to minister to people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds. His practical messages show us how a true life of holiness can be lived out in the "real world", where our core values and basic Biblical beliefs are often being compromised. While he will challenge and inspire you, you will also enjoy his sense of humor and "down-home" personality. Evangelist Rittgers still believes in the God-called Evangelist and the need for revival and renewal in our churches today. He still preaches and practices scriptural holiness and believes it has not gone out of style or become a thing of the past. He is available for revivals, camp meetings, seminars or pulpit supply and would be honored to serve Christ in these capacities. Evangelist Rittgers welcomes your inquiries or questions. |
